We hope you’ll take the time to check out our campaign and chose your donation by selecting a perk such as CDs, T-shirts, posters, or a private show. Here’s a sneak peak at some of our gear along with an album concept we received from a talented graphic designer.
Thank you all who spread the word and backed our campaign every step of the way. It wasn’t an easy task, but we pushed through every day and gave this campaign our all. Thank you fans, friends, and family for guiding us in our next big chapter.
All funds raised in current will go towards merchandise, studio, and marketing costs. But what happens if we don’t reach our goal? The answer is simple, we’ll still push forward raising funds this year to give you a new album by December 2015. It’s our promise to you!
Have an amazing day, enjoy your free download, and we hope you’ll help us with one final push in reaching our goal on Indiegogo.
– Son de Rey
Saturday April 26, 2014 will be a night for the books. Son de Rey is excited to present the first “Sonidos de Austin Showcase” at Flamingo Cantina featuring several premiere local Latin groups in Austin, Texas.
La Vida Buena means the “good life.” This latin group based out of Austin, Texas incorporates hip-hop, funk, and jazz into their music. They take traditional pop arrangements and add a special twist of salsa to the mix. With the right amount of salsa rhythm and hip hop beats they create bilingual melodies that set them apart from your typical salsa group. Musical influences include Orishas, Manolito, La Charanga Habaranera, The Roots And Ozomatli. Their shows are packed with energy and are always a party of a lifetime. They recently released their debut EP Checkpoint Alpha to rave reviews in the Austin Music scene. On January 23, 2014 Mayor Lee Leffingwell proclaimed the day “La Vida Buena Day.” The synergy and fun they transfer from the stage to the audience is a testament as to why they are living la vida buena.
Hey guys! What’s up?! It’s 2014 and we’re ready to kill it in every which way. New shows, new music, new videos, and a new fresh perspective.
And of course, we always appreciate your love and support! After a great start to the year, we’re excited to announce that the Austin Chronicle has officially released it’s Music Poll Ballot. That means it’s time to vote for your favorite artists and musicians!
Can we ask for a quick favor? Vote for Son de Rey in the following categories:
Best in Austin
* Best New Austin Band

* Best Latin Traditional
* Best Latin Rock
We want to thank Blastro2 for their recent coverage of our latest music video “Oye Mi Amor.” The video was directed by Hans Gotun and Kamie Dorris and was produced by lead vocalist Luis Miguel Ramirez.
The video took a month of production planning, and over 40 hours of filming over the course of 5 days and features fans, friends, and family of Son de Rey.
Costumes were designed by Omar Lisandro, host of the new web series StyleXSight. The shoot took place in a South Austin home that was transformed into an 80s party house.
We’d like to thank all those who made this music video a success! More in store for SDR in 2014. Thanks for the love!
